We offer a large variety of leagues that accommodate a wide range of curlers. So, whether you’re a recreational player or someone competitive; if you’re 6, 106 or somewhere in-between, the Thistle Curling Club is sure to have a league suitable for you.
Sunday - Monty - Open
Fun, friendly recreational league. Any combination of players welcome.

Monday - Sturling - Open
Try something new! Sturling has 2 people per team (any combination - men, women, mixed, stick throwers, or traditional throwers).
Monday at 6:00 p.m.
Games are 6 ends long with 6 rocks per team thrown each end. No sweeping is required, but if you wish you can sweep from the close hogline into the house. Each end one team member throws all six rocks while the other team member skips. The next end you switch. This allows both players an opportunity to advance their throwing and skipping skills.
Games take about an hour to complete leaving plenty of time for socializing.

Monday - Mixed/Open
Monday Mixed/Open is a more competive league, great way to advance your skills. Limit of 9 teams for this league.

Tuesday - Crafty Codgers - Open
A league for retirees who like to curl, be a bit competitive, but mostly like to have fun. If that's you, COME JOIN US. We make the teams. You will have the opportunity to meet some fabulous teammates.

20 games guaranteed - October 8 to December 17 (banquet) and January 7 to Mar 18 (banquet)
Cost: $TBD (updated mid-September) + $10 Crafty Codgers Curling Club fee (for banquets and prizes)
Presently (with 11 teams) we play a double round robin with 2 byes. We are looking for 4 more players to make up team #12.
We could also use some people who would like to spare - $10 per game.

Wednesday - Early Bird Ladies
Recreational ladies league. Wednesday 9:30 a.m.
Welcome to the Early Bird Ladies League. We are a fun social league of ladies who love to curl and meet new people.
Our league curls on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am, hence, Early Birds! For the season we play 20 games starting the 1st Wednesday after Thanksgiving and wrap-up around the 2nd Wednesday in March with a break at Christmas. There are 2 banquets in the season: Christmas and Year End.
Our league doesn’t have teams that enter but individuals. The skip and third will stay together with the seconds and leads changing teams every season. A great way to meet new people. We place individuals in comfort positions and work towards having balanced skilled teams each season.
If you are new to curling, we will help train you and work with you throughout the season as we welcome all lady curlers. The Thistle curling club also offers an adult learn to curl program with a Nationally certified instructor.Join us for fun and exercise!

Wednesday - Morning Open
An open league, mostly mixed but some ladies and mens teams as well. The level of curling is mainly recreational, focusing on having a great time while meeting new people. Individuals are welcome, we can place you on a team. Complete teams are welcome as well.

Includes 22 games, October 9 to December 18 and January 8 to March 19.
Cost will not exceed $260 (plus $17 Curling Alberta fee) per curler. Exact cost will be determined in late August when the number of teams has been c onfirmed.

Wednesday - Sportsman - Open
Open curling league.
Wednesday 1:00 p.m.
Cost: $TBD (approx $350 per player)
A longstanding league of over 70 years. Icons such as Kevin Martin and Randy Ferby have played in this league. The league is open to any combination (men, women, mixed) and usually starts the first Wednesday after Thanksgiving.
Format includes:
- 20 game season
- League play includes a round robin format with a small cash payout per win
- A, B, and C playoffs for team plaques
- Year end playoff/bonspiel with prizes for all teams
- Food and a jug of beer for teams at Christmas and year end parties
- Double board for a jug of beer each game

Adult Learn to Curl
Want to become a curler, let us help!
Join our Adult Learn to Curl Program; no experience required.
You do require a clean pair of indoor shoes, stretchy pants, and a willingness
to have fun and learn.
COST: $200.00 per person
A Nationally certified instructor will guide you from your first rock to playing games during an 6-week program with one-on-one instructor time available.
Upon completion of the program, join our instructional rookie league or one of our fun leagues to continue advancing your skills and enjoy some post-game socializing.

Little Rocks Curling Program
PROGRAM STRUCTURE:
LITTLE ROCKS (7 – 12 years):
No experience necessary. The program structure includes introduction to curling, skill development, game experience and a social time with a snack. The level and time spent on intro/skills/games/etc is customized to each curler based on their skill levels, and the curlers will be grouped with similar-skilled kids.
Little Rocks will be running on Sundays from 1:00pm, for ~30-60 minutes of on-ice programming (duration each week depends on the energy level of the curlers)

Juniors (Sunday)
Junior Curling Program
PROGRAM STRUCTURE:
JUNIORS (12 – 18 years):
No experience necessary. A combination of coaching, skill development, game experience, and social time will be provided for curlers.
The program structure includes introduction to curling, skill development, game experience and a social time with a snack. The level and time spent on intro/skills/games/etc is customized to each curler based on their skill levels. Games/teams are arranged based on mixed-skill teams to allow the more experienced to share their skills.
We also have some hi-tech equipment to help the curlers improve their skills, including a video replay system, rock timers and sweeping pressure.
Juniors will be running on Sundays from 1:30-3:30pm
